The University of Haripur, in collaboration with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zone Development and Management Company (KP-EZDMC), has established an Academic Collaboration Centre in Hattar, Haripur, to foster closer ties between academia and industry.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by University of Haripur Vice-Chancellor Professor Shafiq ur Rehman, and KP-EZMDC CEO Javed Iqbal Khattak, along with other dignitaries.
According to a statement, the primary objective of this collaboration is to bridge the gap between academia and industry, offering significant advantages to students, researchers, and various industrial sectors.
During the ceremony, Professor Shafiq ur Rehman expressed long-standing efforts to establish this centre, emphasising that their dedication has now culminated in a formal partnership between the university and industrial sectors, marking a significant milestone.
Javed Iqbal Khattak commended the vice chancellor's initiatives and emphasised that the newly inaugurated centre would facilitate collaboration between academia and industry stakeholders. He also pledged continuous support and facilities from KP-EZMDC.
In a separate event, Javed Iqbal Khattak led a tree plantation drive at the Hattar Economic Zone and the Hattar Special Economic Zone.
During the drive, over 500 saplings were planted by the participants.
