BHAKKAR:

Wild wolves have spread fear among the citizens of Bhakkar’s Tehsil Mankera. Wolf attacks are still continuing after the consumption of multiple animals. Concerned authorities were repeatedly informed, but action has yet to be taken. Meanwhile, affected citizens remain firmly in the grip of fear.

Bloodthirsty wolves have been attacking and eating livestock animals at night in Kesanwala, Noorshah Chak 9 and the surrounding areas for the past month. Poor farmers are suffering the most, while panic has spread in the area. Locals have begun hunting the wolves without any safety measures or precaution, which can lead to a major incident.

Worse still, in spite of their efforts the wolf attacks continue at night.

In spite of a policy existing to deal with the issue, no serious action has been taken by the concerned authorities thus far. As a result, valuable animals are being lost and anxiety is spreading among the residents.

Affected citizens in different villages of Mankera have demanded immediate notice from higher authorities, including caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, Punjab chief secretary, Sargodha Division commissioner and Bhakkar deputy commissioner.
