Two ‘robbers’ killed in ‘encounter’

Police said bandits lost their lives due to firing from their accomplices

In a recent incident, police engaged in an alleged encounter with a group of five robbers, resulting in the death of two of them, while one was arrested.

Two others escaped.

According to police sources, the robbers had targeted a mobile shop in the jurisdiction of Chowk Parana police station and attempted to flee. When the police pursued them, the culprits opened fire on the officers.

The encounter took place near a canal, leading to an intense exchange of gunfire between the police and the robbers. The two bandits lost their lives due to the firing from their own accomplices.

The police managed to apprehend one of the robbers, while the remaining two evaded capture.

The bodies of the deceased robbers were shifted to a nearby hospital.

The local villagers expressed their support for the police by chanting slogans in favor of the law-enforcement personnel at the scene of the incident.

Officers from both Saddar and Kalyana police stations participated in the operation.

In the month of December 2022, an alleged bandit was killed in a police encounter in Khurrianwala while his accomplice escaped.

Sargodha Road Police Station and Madina Town Police Station personnel had been in their official vehicles at 1:30 a.m. in anticipation that the wanted “criminals” would use the route.

Two persons riding on a motorcycle appeared. They were signaled to stop which they allegedly defied and rode on, police said.

SHO Mansoor Sadiq, along with his team, chased the motorcyclists who allegedly opened fire on the police. In the exchange of fire, Ahsan alias Sana Butt sustained injuries. The police shifted him to the Allied Hospital in their official vehicle. Ahsan died at the hospital.
