The Auqaf department has announced a well-planned approach to restore historic shrines across Punjab.
Considerable funds have been allocated for master planning, and experts' services will be sought to ensure proper conservation and restoration.
Punjab Auqaf Secretary Dr Tahir Raza Bukhari revealed that a detailed strategy had been devised for the restoration of shrines in Punjab.
The Infrastructure Development Authority and engineering directorate of the Auqaf department are set to conduct the feasibility study for the Uch Sharif shrine within a week.
The focus of the initiative is to safeguard the centuries-old heritage by restoring the infrastructure of important places like Syed Jalaluddin Surkh Posh Makhdoom Jahanian, Jahangusht Mosque and other sites with historical and religious significance.
The provincial secretary also emphasised the importance of inter-religious tolerance and dialogue, aiming to promote peace and philanthropy in the society.
Uch Sharif holds a special place in history with its significant contributions to the spread of Sufism and the teachings of Islam throughout the subcontinent.
