KARACHI:

Brazen and ruthless robbers shot dead a tyre shop owner who resisted them during a robbery at his shop near the bustling New Sabzi Mandi on Superhighway on Wednesday. Meanwhile, suspected robbers also callously shot and injured a young boy near Baloch Colony.

These latest violent crimes add to the concerning statistics, as an alarming 83 innocent citizens have fallen victim to such robberies this year alone, their lives cruelly snatched away simply for resisting these merciless muggers.

In the vicinity of Bismillah Market, adjacent to the New Sabzi Mandi on Superhighway, a sense of fear and vulnerability lingers. It was there that gunmen launched their deadly assault on the victim's car, shattering the peace of the day. The body of the tire shop owner, Arif Mehsood, aged 35, was initially rushed to a private hospital in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, only to be later transferred to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for specialised treatment. This was a cruel twist of fate for a man who was not only an entrepreneur but also a cherished member of his community in Ali Town.
