Karachi police vows to protect all mourners participating in Muharram processions

The Karachi Police has finalised all arrangements to deploy a massive contingent of 4,698 police personnel to maintain peace and protect lives and properties of people on the occasion of Muharram.

These officers, along with 78 senior officers, 751 NGOs, 3,746 head constables/constables, 123 women police personnel, 178 commandos from the Special Security Unit (SSU), and members of the Rapid Response Force, are ready to be deployed to monitor the key procession routes and crossings on the 9th and 10th of Muharram.

The SSU will also place 90 snipers along the sides and passages of the main procession as added security.

The safety of citizens is of utmost importance, so traffic police officers and personnel will efficiently manage traffic flow on the main procession routes as well as alternate traffic routes designated for the occasion.

To ensure the well-being of all mourners participating in the Muharram processions and gatherings, the Karachi Police is committed to provide complete protection.

They urge the public to stay vigilant and immediately report suspicious activity by calling the police on 15.
