KARACHI:

In the case concerning the abandoning of TikToker Ayesha's lifeless body at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), the accused, Jibran, has been sent to jail on judicial remand by the judicial magistrate for District South.

After the completion of physical remand, the police presented the accused before the magistrate. The court directed the investigating officer to submit a challan at the subsequent hearing and ordered the accused, Jibran, to be sent
to jail on judicial remand.

The police claim that the accused was apprehended with the assistance of CCTV footage. The accused said in
his statement, "What began as an attempt to save the life of a woman who had fallen to the ground has turned into a crime."

In a separate case related to the murder of eye specialist Dr Birbal, the judicial magistrate for District South has summoned the new IO and the plaintiff at the next hearing. Despite the court order, the new IO failed to appear during the proceedings on Tuesday.

The court ordered both the IO and the plaintiff to appear at the next hearing to be held on July 13.

During the previous hearing, the court had summoned a progress report from the new IO. However, the previous IO had submitted a brief A-class report, which was contested by the plaintiff.
