Unclaimed motorcycle: High yield bomb defused in Lyari
Bomb reportedly planted in an unclaimed motorcycle parked near park.
KARACHI:
A bomb containing at least three kilogrammes of explosive material was defused on Monday night in Lyari near the Amn Park, a stronghold of the Lyari-based Peoples Amn Committee.
The bomb was reportedly planted in an unclaimed motorcycle parked near the park. Police moved swiftly after learning about the presence of the bomb and cordoned off the locality.
Officials of the Bomb Disposal Squad said that the explosive material also contained nuts and bolts to intensify the blast, adding that the bomb’s remote control mechanism was not attached properly, because of which it did not go off.
