Khosa house attacker arrested

Police say Mohsin alias Lamba opened fire at the residence along with his accomplice at behest of Zubair Niazi

The Lahore Police on Wednesday said they had arrested the accused who opened fire at the residence of Supreme Court lawyer and former Punjab governor Latif Khosa.

Addressing a news conference in Lahore, DIG Investigation Kamran Adil maintained that CIA Model Town had taken into custody professional shooter Mohsin alias Lamba.

The police official said that Lamba opened fire at the residence of Khosa along with his accomplice at the behest of Zubair Khan Niazi, leader of a political party.

It was further said that the deal had been agreed for Rs1 million out of which the accused had received Rs0.1 million in advance.

According to the accused, he intended to open fire at the residence of apex court lawyer Aitzaz Ahsan next.

The DIG said that the accused had a previous record of crimes, attempted murder, extortion, robbery and shooting at people's houses.

Earlier this month, Khosa’s driver sustained injuries after unidentified armed men opened fire at his residence in Lahore.

Khosa said that he remained safe in the attack but the attackers fled the scene.
