QUETTA:

The Balochistan National Party (BNP) organized a protest demonstration in Quetta on Saturday to voice their concerns about the rampant spread of narcotics in society.

Party workers initiated the protest rally from Sariab Road, marching through various roads until they reached the provincial assembly.

During the demonstration, protesters vehemently chanted slogans against the police and the provincial government, holding them accountable for their failure to take decisive action against openly operating drug peddlers in Sariab Road and other areas of the city.

The protesters carried placards and banners inscribed with messages criticizing the government and police for their inability to eradicate the curse of narcotics.

Malik Naseer Shahwani, the parliamentary leader of the BNP, emphasized the urgent need for police intervention to eliminate the menace of narcotics from Sariab Road, which has been adversely affecting the younger generation.

He stressed that the police must take immediate action against drug peddlers. The protesters blocked the main road outside the Balochistan Assembly, urging the police to adopt a strict approach in dealing with the drug peddlers in the area.

Shahwani reiterated that the government should back its promises with tangible actions. Furthermore, the protesters expressed their grievances regarding the lack of basic facilities.
