Pakistan Forest Institute (PFI) Peshawar has initiated a three-day workshop to increase the production of bamboo crops and determine their types and numbers through mobile application.
The PFI Director General (DG) Khalid Ilyas inaugurated the workshop, while Additional DG Safdar Ali Shah, forest department Assistant Inspector General Praveen Ijaz, International Bamboo and Rattan Organization (INBAR) Consultant Hoang Viet Anh and Consultant Muhammad Khurshid participated from all provinces of the country.
The training on “Mobile App-based Bamboo Resource Assessment” has been organized in collaboration with the climate ministry and the PFI.
In China, the experts said that the bamboo industry had lifted millions of poor people out of poverty, creating employment opportunities for nearly 10 million individuals.
