ATC cancels interim bail of ex-SHO in Naqueebullah murder case
The Special Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has cancelled the interim-bail and ordered to send six police officials, including former SHO Amanullah Marwat, to jail in the Naqeebullah murder case.
Naseemullah, better known as Naqeebullah Mehsud, was killed on January 13, 2018, in Malir district during an allegedly fake encounter staged by the then Malir SSP Rao Anwar.
The Naqeebullah murder case was heard in front of Special Court No16 in the Anti-Terrorism Complex in Karachi Central Jail.
Former SHO Amanullah Marwat, Sheikh Muhammad Shoaib alias Shooter, Gada Hussain, Syed Sadaqat Hussain Hamdani, Riaz Ahmed, Raja Shamim Mukhtar and Mohsin Abbas, who were on interim bail, appeared before the court.
Police submitted a report before the court stating that the accused were dismissed from service for absconding in the Naqeebullah murder case in 2018.
Public Prosecutor Zulfiqar Haider in his arguments before the court said that the defence counsel took the stand that police department took no action against the accused and they were getting salaries whereas the report of the police authorities has declared this position completely wrong.
The murder case of Naqueebullah filed in 2018 nominated Amanullah Marwat and five others as abettors besides the main accused Rao Anwar and his team.
The court inquired about the role of Shoaib Shooter in the case. On which, Prosecutor Zulfiqar Haider stated that the accused Shoaib was not part of the team that allegedly executed Naqueebullah and two other men, but his presence was confirmed through the call data record (CDR) of cellular phone. Shoaib Shooter's name was in the case filed against former SSP Rao Anwaar, on which the court remarked that all the persons named in the case have been acquitted.
The court canceled the interim bail of SHO Amanullah Marwat, Gada Hussain, Syed Sadaqat Hussain Hamdani, Riaz Ahmed, Raja Shamim Mukhtar and Mohsin Abbas and ordered to send them to jail.
On the order of the court, the accused were taken into custody by the police and sent to jail. The court confirmed interim bail of Shoaib Shooter.
The accused had surrendered before the Special Anti-Terrorism Court after the acquittal of former SSP Malir Rao Anwar, DSP Qamar and others.
