KARACHI:

Amid rampant incidents of robberies on way to the official cattle market on Superhighway and in order to facilitate citizens in purchasing sacrificial animals, the city administration has allowed a temporary cattle market near the Qayyumabad intersection.

The official permit for the market has also been issued, announced the cattle market administrator Rana Imran.

Spanning across an area of 70 acres, the cattle market aims to provide convenience to the residents of DHA, Baloch Colony, Defence View, Mehmoodabad, Korangi, and Landhi, along with neighbouring areas.

The market offers a wide variety of sacrificial animals, including cows, bulls, goats, and camels.

The entry fee for cows, bulls, and camels is set at Rs2,500, while the fee for goats is Rs1,500.

Cattle market management has ensured the implementation of effective security measures for the safety of both traders and buyers.

As a result, a significant number of citizens have been visiting the cattle market near Qayyumabad Chowrangi to select their preferred sacrificial animals.

Korangi deputy commissioner granting permission for the establishment of the cattle market, has further endorsed the initiative.

This development comes as a positive step towards providing a convenient platform for citizens to purchase animals for the upcoming sacrificial event.
