
Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir highly appreciated the vital and most significant role being played by the overseas Pakistanis and acknowledged their contributions to the country's economy, the media wing of the military said in a statement on Tuesday.
Field Marshal Asim Munir is currently on an official visit to the United States. During the visit, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief interacted with the Overseas Pakistani community in Washington DC.
Field Marshal Asim Munir received a warm welcome from the overseas Pakistanis, who gathered in large numbers to meet him. The diaspora warmly appreciated the outstanding performance, bravery and professionalism of the Armed Forces during Operation Bunyanum Marsoos and Marka-e-Haq.
The army chief expressed his deep appreciation for the vital and most significant role being played by overseas Pakistanis as ambassadors of Pakistan. He acknowledged their contributions to Pakistan's economy through remittances, investments and higher achievements in other domains.
The ISPR stated that the army chief underscored the importance of engagement with the overseas Pakistanis, highlighting the need for continued collaboration and cooperation to address common challenges and promote cooperation.
The overseas Pakistanis shared their experiences and suggestions with the army chief, the statement said. The interaction concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and commitment, as the COAS and the overseas Pakistanis pledged to work together towards a more secure, prosperous, and resilient Pakistan.
