Police secure recovery of hostages after four-hour fight

Police secured release of a director and computer operator of NADRA’s office in Gojra who had been kidnapped and held hostage. Police secured recovery of hostages after a four-hour fight.

Muhammad Mushtaq had informed Rescue 15 that Muhammad Faheem Anjum, his son, who was a director at the NADRA office in Gojra, and Muhammad Naveed, a computer operator, had been traveling back from Gojra when they were kidnapped by unidentified people near Adda Pansera.

Muhammad Mushtaq told Rescue 15 that the kidnappers had been demanding a ransom of Rs5 million for releasing the hostages.

Based on this information, the SP of Saddar, Shamsul Haque Durrani, and the SHOs of Tarkhani and Nishatabad investigated the matter and carried out raids at several locations.

Both hostages were recovered after an encounter. However, the kidnappers fled. It ought to be brought back to the forefront that two youngsters had been kidnapped eleven days ago from the vicinity of the Khurrianwala Police Station and held captive for a ransom of Rs 0.5 million. One of them was killed because the kidnappers didn't receive the ransom.
