A beggar residing in Chak 103 GB, brought forth allegations of police misconduct after Rs700,000 were confiscated from him while en route to pay for a recently acquired plot.
However, as the case unfolded, an astonishing revelation emerged, shedding light on an accumulated fortune worth over Rs300 million. In a writ petition submitted to Additional and Sessions Judge Shaukat Javed, the beggar identified as Muzaffar Hussain detailed the incident, asserting that he had purchased a plot and was carrying the agreed-upon amount when intercepted near 27 Wala Mor by cop Imran and driver Siddique from Jaranwala police station.
The officers subjected him to a search during which the confiscated sum was taken, along with demands to disclose the origin of the money. Despite his repeated visits to the police station in the company of Owais Shah and Mukrram Ali Shah, attempts to retrieve his funds were met with indifference and disrespect.
Upon reviewing the case, the court summoned a police report, which prompted the revelation of a vast wealth hidden within the beggar's financial accounts.
The police officials' legal representative inquired about the source of the initial sum, leading Muzaffar Hussain to disclose the existence of his substantial funds in a UBL bank account, which he had painstakingly accumulated over fifty years of begging.
Consequently, the court issued an order to initiate legal proceedings against the implicated police personnel.
After the court proceedings, Muzaffar Hussain, clad in ragged attire and worn-out shoes, spoke to the media, expressing his satisfaction with the justice provided. He included in his remarks the inclusion of SP Jaranwala and SHO Jaranwala as respondents in the writ petition, highlighting their dismissive behavior towards his pleas.
Muzaffar Hussain also revealed that he carefully saved money for fifty years, putting it in different banks.
