Thousands of local students on Thursday marched in protest in Kurram tribal district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), demanding strict action against those responsible for the May 4 slaughter at a government high school. The protest was attended by a large number of school students, their teachers and local residents who lamented that despite the passage of one month the government had failed to arrest the culprits behind the manslaughter.
“On May 4 a man was killed by unidentified attackers and in a tit-for-tat response armed men entered a government high school in Tari Mangal area and killed seven people in cold blood, including four schoolteachers,” said the speakers, adding that the attack was carried out in the presence of students and other staff but the authorities were reluctant to take any action against those involved in the heinous crime.
