ISLAMABAD:

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) once again gave the people desirous to contest elections for the Punjab Assembly an opportunity to submit their party tickets.

The country’s polls supervisory authority allowed all candidates in the country’s biggest province to submit their party tickets to relevant returning officers (ROs) till midnight of April 26 [Wednesday].

After receiving the party tickets, the ROS will proceed with the allocation of election symbols. The final list of candidates will be released after the allocation of election symbols.

Earlier, on April 20, the ECP extended the deadline for submitting party tickets. In a press release, the polls body had asked all political parties to ensure their candidates were given tickets within the specified timeframe.

It further asked the candidates to get election symbols allotted by the ROs before the deadline passes, so the process could be completed according to schedule.
