Medical Drama: JPMC hearing rescheduled

The new date for the hearing will be fixed by the office of the court.

KARACHI:
The recently devolved Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) case is still pending at the Sindh High Court because the August 24 hearing was rescheduled. The new date for the hearing will be fixed by the office of the court. Former high court judge and the JPMC lawyer Raja Qureshi said that the hearing, which was supposed to be presented before a full bench, was rescheduled because of the judges’ heavy workload. He added that the court had not issued a ‘status quo’ which meant that the government could issue orders regarding postings, transfers and budget cuts. Qureshi claimed that he was optimistic that the court would rule in favour of the hospital. He added that the government had dissected and deformed the ministry of health.
