Bollywood actor Swara Bhaskar tied the knot with social activist Fahad Ahmad in February. The newlywed couple hosted a grand wedding reception on March 16 in Delhi after registering their marriage last month. Pictures of the duo have now flooded social media, prompting users to shower them with congratulatory messages.
The lavish reception saw them make a dazzling entry at the venue. The star-studded ceremony also witnessed the arrival of notable personalities from the film and political cicuit. While the marriage was attended by only their closest friends and family members, Swara-Fahad's Delhi reception saw Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Samajwadi Party leader and actor Jaya Bachchan, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, and MP Shashi Tharoor graced the party to bless the couple among other guests, reported News 18.
Swara looked like a vision to behold in a heavily-embroidered, bright pink lehenga with distinguish mirror work. She paired her traditional ensemble with stone-encrusted, diamond jewellery, statement earrings, and bangles, clubbed with a striking maang tika. Fahad, on the other hand, looked dapper in a golden-white sherwani, paired with white pyjamas. The duo welcomed their honorary guests and posed for pictures together, walking hand-in-hand.
Jaya and Rahul arrived at the wedding reception together. While the Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham actor was dressed in a white and yellow shalwar kameez set, Rahul sported an all-white traditional ensemble, comprising a kurta and pair of pyjamas.
A day before the grand wedding reception, Swara offered a few glimpses of a special Qawwali night she and Fahad hosted. The event also saw many notable personalities. For it, the Veere Di Wedding actor exuded regal vibes, decked up in a royal navy blue, velvet ethnic ensemble with intricate designs embroidery and embellishments.
She clubbed her attire with a green and gold-bordered dupatta, while accessorizing her look with statement jewellery. Fahad also donned a Pathani suit, with the same navy-blue hue, designed with white patterns. Dropping the pictures, Swara wrote, “Yeh jo halka halka suroor hai!”
Earlier, the duo also shared a video collage documenting their relationship. In the joint post, they wrote “Sometimes you search far & wide for something that was right next to you all along. We were looking for love, but we found friendship first. And then we found each other! Welcome to my heart Fahad Zirar Ahmad. It’s chaotic but it’s yours!”
