A report released by cybercrime analysis provider Spyware claims that 721.5 million credentials were exposed on online platforms in 2022.

The leaked credentials were mostly received through third-party applications exposed to malware. In addition to leaked passwords, around 22 million devices were also infected by viruses and malware.

As per the reports, 72% of the exposed credentials are still being used by the owners without any change.

Hence internet users are being warned to change their passwords immediately to avoid this, especially the ones who have one password for all platforms.

Users are also recommended to opt for two-factor authentication wherever possible.
