Suspect tortured by mob dies in hospital
An alleged robber brutally tortured by citizens on Wednesday night after being caught in Orangi Town died during treatment on Thursday morning.
Orangi Town police station SHO Waqar Ahmed said that the suspect, 30-year-old Muhammad Ayub, had allegedly entered the house of a citizen, Yousaf, in Sector 12L Orangi Town with the intention of robbery on Wednesday night.
Meanwhile, Yousuf woke up and raised hue and cry on which Ayub stabbed him with a sharp object and tried to escape. However, by that time the neighbours had woken up and caught Ayub.
The area residents gathered and beat Ayub mercilessly till such time that a police mobile came and wrested him free from the lynch mob.
He was brought to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital from where he was shifted to Civil Hospital in critical condition. However, he died during treatment in the morning.
