Citizens targetted over land disputes in two separate incidents

KURIANWALA:

Two persons were shot dead over land dispute in separate incidents, police said.

Mian Muhammad Iqbal had built a power loom factory in Madina Town area.

An unidentified person entered the factory and shot and injured him.

Zikrullah, an employee of Iqbal’s, tried to overpower the assailant, but the latter shot him too.

A team of Rescue 1122 had been taking the two injured to the hospital, but Mian Muhammad Iqbal died on way to the hospital.

The SHO of Madina Town Police Station, Basharat Hussain, reached the spot and handed over the body of the deceased to his heirs after postmortem and started legal proceedings.

In another incident, one Dr. Wilayat Khan had been having a land dispute with some people, police said.

Some people visited Dr. Khan at his home the other night and took him along to the site of the land under dispute, they said.

Meanwhile, some armed men appeared on motorcycles and opened fire on Dr. Khan, killing him on the spot, police said.

Police handed over the body to the relatives of the deceased and registered a case against the named accused.
