ISLAMABAD:

Pakistan Democratic Movement President Maulana Fazlur Rehman has accused former chief justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar and Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed of lobbying for PTI Chairman Imran Khan, demanding of the institutions to take notice of it.

“They have no right to try to interfere prematurely in the politics of Pakistan,” Fazl said while addressing a news conference on Sunday.

The PDM president said, “We have always respected the courts and stood with the Constitution and the state. We have no desire to maintain caretaker governments as we have to resolve the issues faced by the country.”

He said, “We should not turn a blind eye to the facts of any political opposition. Two assemblies do not exist at the moment. The time of dissolution of two assemblies is not the same, nor are the election schedules the same. The same body does not have the authority to give the schedule.”

On the digital census, Fazl said, “Yes, the census is also ongoing. Now, the election will be held, so it will be based on the old census.”

Fazl claimed that the nature of the census would be different in the future federal and two provincial elections. “How much right of those who are going for vote-registration will be snatched? Has the assembly been dissolved by the chief minister or has the order of a leader been followed?”

He questioned, “Will we do the politics of Pakistan in this way? We are moving forward in a positive manner with the world leaders, the Supreme Court has automatically taken notice of why the election schedule is not being given. Have the assemblies been dissolved by the chief ministers or have they followed the orders of a leader and dissolved them at his request? These facts should be kept in front.” He maintained that from a constitutional point of view, “you can say that the chief minister signed, but the one who gave the order to the chief minister is not a secret either”.

He said, “Will we do the politics of Pakistan in this way. The way our assemblies were dissolved … will this be an argument for the sovereignty and supremacy of our assemblies, but we are certainly surprised and surprised that our Supreme Court has issued notices.”

Khanm | 1 year ago | Reply The self-proclaimed advocate of impartiality does not want to commit himself to either course of action. If pushed toward one camp he seeks refuge in the other. Men always find it distasteful to admit that the reasons on both sides of a dispute are equally valid which is to say that violence operates without reason. Tragedy begins at that point where the illusion of impartiality as well as the illusions of the adversaries collapses.
