Middle-aged couple die in house fire

A middle-aged couple was found dead under suspicious circumstances in their house in Sundar.

Reportedly, the house caught fire and the victims died of burn injuries.

Police and rescue teams reached the spot upon receiving information of the incident, collected forensic evidence from the crime scene and recorded statements from eye-witnesses.

Initial investigations and circumstantial evidence suggested that the couple committed suicide, reportedly due to their poor financial situation.

One of the victims, 46-year-old Nabila Bibi, set herself and the house on fire. The blaze engulfed the house and 51-year-old Nazir Ahmad also sustained fatal burn injuries. Police moved the bodies to a morgue for an autopsy and were investigating the matter further.
