KARACHI:

Armed men shot dead an educationist outside his house in the Gulistan-e-Jauhar area on Sunday night, with police saying that the victim appeared to have been targeted.

Syed Khalid Raza was a deputy director for the Dar-e-Arqam network of schools and served as the vice chairman of a federal of private schools.

Police said that the CCTV footage of the incident shows two suspects on a motorcycle who crossed Raza while he was walking towards his house. He was shot in the head and was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

Area SHO Safdar Mashwani said that it appeared like a targeted attack as the attackers didn't take the valuables or phones. The police also found a single shell of a 30-bore pistol from the scene.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has sought a report from the Karachi police chief.

Police said that they are obtaining CCTV footage from surrounding areas to map the exit route taken by the attackers.
