Rs5m worth of fake fertiliser seized

The Agriculture Extension department raided a fertiliser factory and seized Rs5 million worth of fake fertiliser, besides apprehending two suspects.

Assistant Controller Fertilider Agriculture Extension Department Allah Rakha Sindhu raided the factory located on Mauza Tiba Masoodpur Sher Shah road and recovered seized the fake fertilizer, materials and hundreds of printed, empty bags from the facility.

The suspects were producing fertilizers without any license and an FIR was registered under the Punjab Fertiliser Control Order against owner Muhammad Sabir and his assistant Mulazim Hussain with Muzaffarabad police station.

The accused were causing irreparable damage to the economy by illegally preparing and packing fake fertilizers and supplying them to different parts of the country.

A spokesperson for the Agriculture department said that the mafia selling fake agricultural inputs was being dealt with iron hands and those involved in this heinous business would be punished.
