Suspect flees as cop chase ends in car accident

Several criminals caught by police across the port city

A police vehicle chasing a suspect was involved in a collision with a privately-owned vehicle on the Dalmia Road in the Aziz Bhatti area of Gulshan-e-Iqbal on Tuesday. The suspect was able to escape.

During the pursuit, the cop driving the police mobile lost control 'due to the water accumulated on a patch of road'. Both vehicles were damaged but there were no casualties.

Korangi shootout

The Crime Investigation Agency arrested three suspects following a shootout along the causeway in Korangi Industrial Area in the early hours of Tuesday. All three were injured in an 'encounter' and were shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. They were identified as 25-year-old Muhammad Zeeshan, 37-year-old Nawaz Ahmed and 30-year-old Muhammad Shareef. Arms and valuables were recovered from their possession.

Suspect injured in SITE

Police in the SITE area arrested an injured suspect following a shootout near the D-1 bus stop. The suspect was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. He was identified as 24-year-old Shoaib. A pistol with ammunition, a mobile phone, and cash was recovered from his possession.

Two held in Baldia

Ittehad Town police arrested two suspected robbers after an alleged encounter near the Gulshan-e-Ghazi Cemetery in Baldia Town.

The injured suspects were taken to the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital. Police said the injured robbers were identified as 18-year-old Siddiq Ullah and 17-year-old Waseem Ullah. Police recovered a 9 mm and one 30-bore pistol, a mobile phone, cash, and a motorcycle from their possession.

Zaman Town

Zaman Town police arrested a street crime suspect during an alleged encounter near the Coast Guard roundabout in Korangi Sector 50-C.
