The remains of 31 victims of the Lasbela bus accident have been handed over to their heirs after identification through DNA tests at a laboratory in Karachi.
At least 41 people were killed when the passenger bus coming to Karachi from Quetta fell off a bridge while making a sharp turn in the Bela area of Lasbela district, Balochistan. Three victims were identified on the spot and their remains were handed over to the heirs. The remains of 38 others were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre in Karachi for identification through DNA tests.
On Thursday, the remains of 31 passengers including eight women were handed over to the heirs. The DNA reports of at least seven others was awaited.
The victims' families said that no government official provided them any help in identifying their loved ones.
