The police on Tuesday registered a case against the people who misbehaved with the Sindh Police Surgeon during the DNA testing of the victims of Lasbela bus tragedy.

More than 40 people were burned to death in a fire triggered on a Quetta-Karachi passenger bus after an accident in Bela city of Lasbela district of Balochistan on Sunday morning.

Some of the victims were badly burnt and they were shifted to Karachi for DNA testing for the purpose of identification. However, during the DNA testing some people allegedly misbehaved with the Police Surgeon, Dr. Samia Syed Tariq.

The Saddar police registered a case No. 21/2023 under Sections 186, 353, 504, 506-B, 509, and 34 on the complaint of the Police Surgeon. Waqar Khattak, President of PPP PS 110 UC 5, and others have been named in the FIR.

According to the report, the accused allegedly threatened to harm the Police Surgeon. They interfered in the medical procedures, which had an impact on the DNA analysis.

Testimonies of the eyewitness from Jinnah Hospital are being recorded by police investigators in order to get to the real culprits.
