Muggers kill two including ASI

The DIG said that four bullets hit the chest of the deceased, which caused his death

KARACHI:

An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) was killed and an SHO miraculously remained unhurt when a suspect opened fire in New Preddy Street area of Jacob Lines.

According to DIG East Muqaddas Haider, SHO Brigade police station Khalid Rafiq and ASI Iqbal Ali were on patrol on a motorcycle in Jacob Lines when they spotted a suspect. They signaled him to stop but he opened indiscriminate fire as a result ASI Iqbal died on the spot. The accused fled from the scene.

The DIG further said that four bullets hit the chest of the deceased, which caused his death. CCTV footage is being obtained from the crime scene to trace the accused.

The body of the deceased was taken to Jinnah Hospital and after legal proceedings and post-mortem and then handed over to the heirs. The funeral prayer will be held at Garden Headquarters on Monday (Today).

Meanwhile, in Sultanabad near TCF School, robbers shot dead Abdul Razzaq Khaskheli on his resistance during the robbery incident and fled after looting. Body of the deceased was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
