Families of martyred cops receive cheques
Islamabad Capital Territory Police (ICTP) on Monday distributed an amount of Rs1,224 million among the bereaved families of martyred personnel and deceased employees, admissible under the Prime Minister Assistance Package.
A statement issued by capital police paid rich tribute to their personnel who have laid their lives in the line of duty.
“The courageous role played by the police has won millions of hearts,” the statement stated.
It further read that for the compensation, an amount of Rs1,224 million was paid to the families of martyrs under the prime minister’s assistance programme which was pending for the last eight years.
Similarly, Rs17.5 million was also distributed among the families for welfare purposes.
Besides this, the recruitment of the next of kin of the martyrs was also completed and a total of 328 inductions were made including 235 constables.
The communique also said no case of recruitment of next of kin of martyred personnel is pending with the Islamabad police at present.
To boost the morale of the police, steps including raise in salaries up to Rs9,500 was made while 30 gallantry awards and promotions were undertaken.
