Alleged drug dealer held after ‘encounter’

Police searched the vehicle and allegedly found 45 packets of drugs from inside the vehicle

The CIA police arrested a 36-year-old alleged drug dealer in an injured condition after “an encounter” on Susan Road.

The police allegedly seized 35 kilogrammes of hashish, 15 kilogrames of opium, Rs100,000 in cash and a pistol and started searching for one of his absconding accomplices.

Sub-Inspector Zeeshan Khalid posted at Saddar Division CIA, along with Zubair Khalid, was present on Jaranwala Road to arrest the wanted man.

Meanwhile, they were informed by a source that some alleged drug dealers in a white vehicle were coming from Jaranwala to supply drugs. On this information, the police set up checkpoints at Toll Pump on Jaranwala Road.

Meanwhile, the police saw the car travelling towards them at a high speed. They signaled the car driver to stop, but, police claimed, “the armed suspects in the vehicle opened fire on the police party”.

The police returned fire in self-defence in which Majid Khursheed, a resident of Mohalla Mohabbatpura in Peshawar, was injured while an accomplice of his, Sher Gul Pathan, escaped.

The police searched the vehicle and allegedly found 45 packets of drugs from inside the vehicle.
