Two sisters and their brother received burn injuries in an acid attack allegedly by a jilted suitor in Korangi No5 on Saturday, according to police.

Riding on a motorcycle, the accused, identified as Aamir, and his pillion rider pulled up near the siblings on a road in Saima Villas, Korangi No5, and threw acid on them before speeding away, Farasat Shah, SHO Awami Colony, told The Express Tribune.

As a result of the acid attack, Saima, 18, her sister Saira, 16, and their 19-year-old brother Waqas sustained burn injuries, SHO Shah said.

They were shifted to Civil Hospital where they were admitted in the Burns Ward for specialised treatment.

The acid has burnt the faces and eyes of the two sisters.

Police have arrested the suspects.
