Training for digital census inaugurated

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Secretary Dr Shahzad Khan Bangash on Saturday inaugurated the training for digital census and said that the census was a crucial exercise for better planning and development and equitable distribution of resources. “Quality data is of paramount importance for planning and development, and census is the best practice to collect it”, he said.

The chief secretary formally inaugurated trainings for staff of seventh national census and addressed a function organized here at a government school. Highlighting importance of census, the chief secretary said that it was a national duty and role of all stakeholders was very important in its smooth execution. He stressed that cooperation between enumerators and respondents was inevitable for a successful conduct of census.

Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, NADRA, education department and other stakeholders are part of the first ever digital census in the history of the country and staff trainings are being imparted for the purpose. Deputy Commissioner Peshawar and other relevant officials attended the event.
