NAB received nearly 7,750 complaints in 2022

Complaints included corruption, misappropriation of public money, embezzlement, massive fraud, abuse of power, etc

LAHORE:

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has received a total of 7,744 complaints regarding corruption and corrupt practices, misappropriation of public money, embezzlement, massive fraud, assets beyond known means of income and abuse of power during 2022.

NAB's Sukkur office received the highest number of complaints – 3,570 – followed by 1,547 in Rawalpindi and 1,871 in Karachi.

While NAB Lahore office received 513 complaints, followed by 126 in Multan, 64 in K-P and 53 in Balochistan.

Of the total complaints, 1,075 were in inquiry stage while 315 under investigation.

The Karachi office conducted the highest number of inquiries and investigations – 355 and 91, respectively.

After Karachi, currently 134 inquiries and 40 investigations were ongoing in NAB Sukkur.
