KARACHI:

A drone survey of all Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) lands will take place to identify illegal encroachments and encroachers on the government land of the water board.

The police and law enforcement agencies will conduct a joint grand operation against the encroachers and take strict legal action, and take all measures to hand over the water board land from the land mafia at all costs.

Strict action will also be taken against retired employees for illegal encroachment and residence in water board colonies.

KWSB CEO Engineer Syed Salahuddin Ahmed gave these instructions while addressing officers during a high-level meeting on the issues of water board lands and illegal encroachment at MD Secretariat Karsaz.

On this occasion, Chief Engineer Bilak Sikandar Zardari, while briefing Ahmed, said that geographical identification of the Hub Pumping Station and other vital installations of KWSB should be taken immediately.

KWSB Chief Security Officer Nisar Ahmad Magsi told Ahmed that Sindh police are not ready to help Water Board, so IG Sindh Police should be informed about this matter.

In addition, the help of law enforcement agencies should be taken so that a successful operation can be carried out against the encroachment mafia, and strict security arrangements would be made at all vital water board installations, filter plants and pumping stations.

During the high-level meeting, the CEO issued orders to the concerned authorities and said that a drone survey of all the lands of the Water Board should be carried out immediately. He gave instructions to all concerned Superintendents, Executives and Resident Engineers.
