Gas load shedding causes one more explosion

Gas explosion in a house in Mehmoodabad area injured three persons including a woman and a child.

According to the rescue teams, the explosion occurred in a house in Manzoor Colony due to the gas leakage or may be the gas burner was left on during the gas load shedding and when the supply was restored, the gas had accumulated in the house that caused the incident.

Firefighters rushed to the spot and doused the flames with a struggle of half an hour. Injured persons were rushed to the burns ward of Civil Hospital. They were identified as 44-year-old Faraz Ali, his wife Saba Naz, 38, and their 10-year-old son Ayan Ali. Condition of Saba is stated to be serious.

Hospital sources said that Saba has sustained 97 per cent burns while Faraz Ali has 28 per cent and Ayan Ali has 10 per cent burns.

Atta-ur-Rahman, the brother of the injured woman, said that the area is facing gas load shedding which is the main reason of such incidents. The injured Faraz Ali is employed as a cashier in a private bank.
