Upgradation of veterinary dispensaries okayed

Punjab Livestock and Dairy Development Board has approved the upgradation of seven veterinary hospitals and dispensaries across the district to improve conditions for the related sectors to thrive.

According to official sources, the move will aid in providing quick access to medical care for domestic animals in the event of an emergency.

They said the project will be completed at an estimated cost of over Rs29 million.

The contracts for the projects will be awarded on January 10, they said, adding that mini-hospitals and dispensaries are located in Gujarkhan, Kahutta City, Panjar, Jeora, Aliot, Dakhali, and Thatta Khalil in Taxila.

Additionally, sources said this was a longstanding demand of the local farmers and people associated with the livestock sector.

These seven mini veterinary hospitals and veterinary dispensaries will provide treatment for all types of animal diseases. They said medicines and machinery will be ordered for the hospitals and appointment of new staff will be carried out. Besides, veterinary doctors will also be appointed at every veterinary hospital and dispensary, they added.
