Aid worker: Police denies reports of American’s recovery
The Lahore police on Thursday denied reports of the recovery of Dr Warren Weinstein, a 70-plus aid worker who was abducted from his Model Town residence a few days ago.
A handout quoted CCPO Lahore Ahmad Raza Tahir as saying that news reports about the recovery of Weinstein were baseless. He said that the Khushab police had been contacted to verify the reports, but they said they did not know anything regarding the matter.
Investigators had earlier claimed that Lahore police had taken five people into protective custody, while two more men were later detained for questioning. They, however, said that the police still have no clue about the case. The detained men included three guards, one driver and a guard who had earlier served Weinstein while two others were the guards’ guests.
SSP Investigation Abdul Razzaque Chema told The Express Tribune that they were without any leads. Contradicting reports about the arrest of the main suspect in the case, he said that they were still investigating and treating the case as a blind murder.
SP Investigation Model Town Shoaib Khurram said that despite a thorough investigation, phone records had not yielded any clue in the case. He added that the police had no further information about the suspect whose sketch was released a few days ago.
On the other hand, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah confirmed the recovery of the US citizen. While talking to a news channel, he said that 12 people involved in the case have been detained so far.

goggi, There are a lot of bitter facts about other countries of the world. Most of them more bitter than Pakistan. Instead of blaming Pakistan for everything, you should discuss the evils in the world in general. There are as many social evils in India as in Pakistan. I have had several discussions with my Indian friends and they admit that. Most of them very loudly believe India to be more corrupt than Pakistan. They have visited Pakistan and were amazed to see the standard of living here. All of them were educated people from good families and having a good job.
Glad to see some people at least recognize that Pakistan has become the Republic of Hate. People like @sani will never get their head out of their backsides, constantly looking for excuses, blaming others, and seeking moral equivocation. Sure @sani, such incidents happen in India and U.S and many other countries, but there is a due process which kicks in and the guilty are usually punished, even if it takes time. In your country, the establish promotes hate; Guilt is a default status. Speaking to this case, it would seem that Weinstein was rescued but your ISI geniuses have put a lid on it hoping to extract a few more crumbs from the U.S Good luck. You country is such a shining example of good behavior.

Islam is a peaceful religion, if some Muslim involved in any wrong doings no one is allowed to defame our religion, if he could do so our religion teaches us do not get panic and follow the followings of Islam. we human beings always blame each other if a Jew, Hindu or any other religion follower did wrong its not the fault of its religion more over its fault of its personal capacity. Like killer is killer no matter which religion he or she practice. Human beings have always answers you did this and you did this. we the human beings try to spread love, peace and happiness to other human beings. Now a days Muslims are not following the exact teachings of Islam and its our fault but no one have right to spread hate and wrong words to our religion. Ali and Haq, Your comments are solely aimed at defaming Pakistan. No true son of the soil will never ever do it. Just because you guys are using Muslim names does not mean that you are not Indian trolls. The condition of people in India is a lot worse than in Pakistan. Just look at the poverty rate, rapes, corruption etc.etc. I do not see any Indian trolls commenting about India.

When indigenous Hindus forced to leave their thousands of years old relgion, their young girls abducted and raped, did you protest?

First, I'm a Pakistani and I love my country as much as anybody else.
Pakistan has a lot of social ills. It's a figment of your imagination if you think that nothing is wrong in Pakistan. Pakistani society teaches its people to hate outsiders (Americans) who are your biggest trade partners as Pakistan exports most goods to America.
Shame on Pakistanis for hating on Americans. Shame on Pakistanis for remaining indifferent to the brutalities of the militants and the Taliban who gun down Pakistani soldiers at a point blank range in the tribal areas. Have mercy on yourself by condemning these Taliban cowards for a change. They muzzle your women. They destroy schools for children. What has Taliban given to Pakistan? If you continue to remain apathetic about the Taliban/Mullahs, Pakistan will implode on its own. You won't need India to accomplish that. 50 percent of Pakistan's population is illiterate. That's appalling. 77 million don't get clean drinking water. These are abysmal numbers. Go look in the mirror before blaming India, Israel or America. Pakistan is a dirt poor country that has failed to provide for its people and it has only itself to blame.
Help yourself rather than dumping everything on America. Only 2 percent of Pakistanis pay taxes. Pakistanis don't even feel loyalty to their own country by not paying taxes, yet keep barking anti American slogans. Ridiculous!

Well Khushab is a very sensitive area as it is home to the Heavy Water and Natural Uranium Research Reactor,a critical part of the Pakistan's Special Weapons Program.

Glad to hear. This also shows that Pakistani police is quite competent. Perhaps the time has arrived that the police assumes a serious attitude to Karachi too and get rid of the mayhem there.
Hope it's true and Mr. Weinstein could return home safely. He did a lot for us. He doesn't deserve such treatment.

You guys sound like Indian paid trolls. No one in Pakistan cares about the religion of some aid worker. This is unlike India where an Australian missionary was burned alive along with his children.
We should stop issuing visas to Americans doing charity work etc till things are stable in pakistan.....These americans charity workers (if thats what they are doing) should appoint some one from Turkey or from other muslim country to do the required job and not risk themselves in pakistan and add to the problems of pakistan

@Muhammad, Most Pakistani people didn't even know he was a Jew, and what difference should that make anyways, he is an American citizen who has been kidnapped in our country. Our law enforcement agencies have found him, hopefully he goes back to his own country safe and sound.
