A fresh spell of rain and snowfall is set to begin across Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) from March 9 to March 16, prompting authorities to issue weather alerts.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the system will bring rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall in mountainous areas, affecting both upper and plains regions of K-P, Express News reported.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMA) in Punjab and K-P have instructed district administrations to remain on high alert and take preemptive measures to avoid any untoward incidents caused by heavy rainfall or snowfall.

PDMA KP has advised officials to ensure the availability of machinery and resources in vulnerable areas. Meanwhile, farmers have been urged to consider the weather forecast while planning agricultural activities.

Tourists visiting northern regions have been advised to check weather conditions and road closures before traveling. The PDMA helpline is available for further guidance on travel and safety precautions.

The spell of pleasant weather continues across Punjab, including Lahore, leading to a gradual rise in temperature. However, rain is expected in several districts of the province from March 12 to March 16.

According to the PMD, cloudy and sunny intervals will continue in most districts of Punjab, including Lahore, today and tomorrow, but no rain is expected.

In Lahore, the minimum temperature is expected to be 17°C, while the maximum temperature could reach 27°C.
