Pakistan sees drop in gold prices as global markets shift

Gold prices in Pakistan fell by Rs1,000, settling at Rs306,000, following a decline in international rates.

Gold prices in Pakistan dropped on Saturday, following a decline in international rates as the price of gold per tola decreased by Rs1,000, settling at Rs306,000 in the local market.

According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 10 grams of gold fell by Rs858, reaching Rs262,345.

On Friday, gold prices had risen by Rs3,000, closing at Rs307,000 per tola in Pakistan.

However, the international price of gold saw a slight increase on Saturday, with the rate rising to $2,910 per ounce, though this reflected a $11 decrease from the previous day, with a premium of $20.

Meanwhile, the price of silver in Pakistan also decreased, falling by Rs12 to reach Rs3,388 per tola.
