Winter Family Festival in full swing

Chairman says festival is the first of its kind, adding that such festivals could provide relief to people from stress

LAHORE:

The Annual Winter Family Festival 2022 is being celebrated enthusiastically by scores of people at Jillani Park, under the auspices of the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA). These views were expressed by PHA Chairman Yasir Gillani while talking to the media on Saturday.

He said that the festival was the first of its kind, adding that such festivals could provide relief to people from stress. The chairman added that people had shown keen interest in a month-long festival as 100,000 people went to PHA recreational facilities on weekends.

The PHA Chairman stated that senior minister Mian Aslam Iqbal inaugurated the festival while Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi also visited to review the arrangements.

Gillani added that various stalls highlighting Punjab village culture were set up, including practical demos of making jaggery, ‘khadi’ fabric, ceramic crockery and the extraction of mustard oil. “We are trying to create awareness about culture of our villages,” Gillani said.
