Black Day announced against student's murder
Students and youth staged a protest outside the NED University on Friday against the murder of a student of the varsity at the hands of robbers.
On the occasion, Islami Jamiat Talaba Karachi head Bilal Jameel announced that a Black Day will be observed today (Saturday) in educational institutions across Karachi, whereas a rally will be taken out on Monday from the NED University against the prevailing lawlessness and the PPP government in Sindh.
Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chief Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman addressing the protestors demanded justice for Bilal Nasir - the young student of the NED University who was gunned down for offering resistance during a mugging incident outside the university.
A large number of NED students, as well as students from other educational institutes in solidarity with the affected family, participated in the protest demonstration. The participants, carrying placards and banners, chanted slogans against the Sindh government and the prevailing lawlessness in the city.
Addressing the protestors, Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman strongly condemned the PPP government in Sindh over the lawlessness in the city and the lack of political will to address the issue.
On the occasion, he announced to observe a Black Day today, Saturday, December 17, across the city. Protest demonstrations will be held in all districts against the lawlessness and the Sindh government, he said while demanding immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the murder of Bilal Nasir.
He said that the PPP government in Sindh has taken the mega city as just an opportunity to mint money and a pasture for corruption.
