As familial relations grow further apart with ever weakening bonds of the South Asian society, it took a nauseating stench for a man to check in on his brother's room on the upper floor of the house only to find out that he passed away in bed four days ago.
Korangi Industrial Area police station SHO Inspector Aurang Zeb Khatak, four-day-old body of Moin Qadri, 45, was found lying on his bed at his house in P&T Colony.
On receiving the information, a Chipa shifted the body to the Jinnah Hospital.
Qadri was unmarried and lived alone with his brother, Mobin Qadri, on the upper floor of the house. Mobin told the police that Moin would often go to pilgrimage of shrines and would not return for days.
"First I thought he has gone on his usual spiritual journeys," Mobin said adding, "When I did not see him for few days, I went to the upper floor and there was a nauseating stench coming from his room. When I went inside I found body of my brother lying on the bed."
The SHO said that according to the preliminary investigation, it is a natural death, but the cause will be known after the post-mortem report.
