Ecstatic crowds come out on streets
The colours of Sindh's culture came to life as ecstatic crowds took to streets across the province on Sunday to celebrate the annual Culture Day.
The traditional attires, embellishments and folk music, with Sindhi cap and ajrak, a block printed shawl customarily coloured in crimson and cobalt, remained the expressions of affinity towards the culture.
The rallies were staged in the urban and rural areas with the participants dancing to the tunes of folk music.
Not only the people, vehicles as well as roads and bridges were also dressed in large Sindhi caps and ajraks.
Many political parties and organizations of social activists also organized activities to celebrate the day which was marked for the 14th consecutive year.
A stage was set up outside Hyderabad Press Club, a place visited by most of the rallies during the day. Singers sang folk and cultural songs as the crowds cheered, clapped and danced.
The educational institutions also celebrated the day in different ways. Many intersections in different parts of the city remained occupied by the boisterous people, busy dancing, chatting, and cheering.
Nawabshah Press Club organized the central event where artists performed for the exuberant crowds. A large number of rallies were taken out in Sakrand and other talukas of the district.
Likewise, the largest stage to celebrate the day in Larkana was set up outside the press club. Sajjan Marvi, Raja Soomro, Zahid Ali Chandio and other singers sang the traditional songs for the people.
Similar events and rallies were organized in the districts of Sukkur and Mirpurkhas divisions as well.
