Pakistan win Central Asian Volleyball Championship
Pakistan beat Iran 3-1 in the final to clinch the Central Asian Volleyball Championship at Gymnasium Hall of the Sports Board Punjab in Lahore on Tuesday.
Hosts Pakistan bagged the first two sets 25-17, 25-16 respectively, before Iran roared back to claim the third set 25-23.
Pakistan responded well in the fourth set, closing out the match with 25-20 score and snaring the title.
The title win was an icing on the cake for Pakistan who were hosting the five-team event after a long gap of 17 years. Apart from Pakistan and Iran, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan also participated in the championship.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also congratulated the volleyball team on his Twitter handle and praised their determination and hard work.
