Ismail Tara laid to rest

Fellow artistes break down in emotion bidding farewell to iconic comedian

The well-known artist and comedian Ismail Tara was entered in his eternal abode at the Isa Nagri Graveyard on Friday.

A large number of people from all walks of life including Provincial Minister Saeed Ghani, PML-N Sindh leader Ali Akbar Gujjar and a large number of people associated with the arts participated in the funeral prayer and burial. Ismail Tara breathed his last on Thursday night at a private hospital where he was under treatment for kidney ailment.

His funeral prayer was offered at Memon Masjid Pahariwala on Shaheed Millat Road after Friday prayers. Provincial Minister Saeed Ghani, Ali Akbar Gujjar of PMLN, The President Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi Ahmed Shah, number of people form arts community including artist Shahroz Sabzwari, Shahzad Raza, Aftab Alam, Shakeel Siddiqi, Rauf Lala, Asalam Sheikh, Ayaz Khan, producer Iqbal Lateef attended the funeral prayer. Many actors including Shahzad Raza could not control their emotions on the occasion of the funeral prayer and people watched many emotional scenes.

Saeed Ghani said that services of Ismail Tara will always remember. His death is a big loss. He entertained people for a long time through his comic acting. Saeed Ghani said that a street in the city will be named after Ismail Tara.

Actor Rauf Lala said, "I was associated with Ismail Tara for the last 42 years. Some time ago, Umar Sharif left us, few days ago Tariq Teddy died in Lahore and now Ismail Tara also passed away. Those who spread happiness and smiles among people are slowly saying goodbye."

According to Rauf Lala, Ismail Tara was a big artist of variation. He has ability to absorb himself regarding getup and character.
