Museum at Ganga Ram’s home planned

CM hails services of 'father of modern Lahore'

LAHORE:

Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has announced that the the residence of Sir Ganga Ram, the father of modern Lahore, at Taxali Gate will be renovated and used as a museum.

He was speaking to the philanthropist's great-granddaughter Kesha Ram Hinsdale who called on him along with her husband Jacob Croteau Hinsdale.

The CM said Ganga Ram had served the people regardless of race and colour and dedicated his life to the service of humanity.

Kesha Ram Hinsdale said she had visited the hospital where patients were getting free medicines and the best treatment. It was heartening to see the mother and child block in the Ganga Ram Hospital.
