The Lahore High Court on Monday summoned the personal secretary of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and others over the issue of altered publications of translations of the Holy Quran.

According to Express News, the plea against the altered publication of the translation of Holy Quran which was published without the consent of the concerned board was heard today at the Lahore High Court, during which the court summoned the principal secretaries of the PM and the chief minister Punjab in personal capacity on December 7.

Justice Shujaat Ali Khan, while hearing the petition filed by Hassan Muawiya, summoned many other 20 grade officers who are related to the case.

According to the petitioner’s plea, the printing of altered publication of the Holy Quran’s translations is against the law which was passed in 2019 regarding the publication of Islam’s holy book.

The petitioner further argued in his plea that despite the orders of the court, a few printing presses are publishing wrong or altered translations of the Holy Quran, without getting them approved from the concerned boards, which is against the law and must be stopped immediately.
